Places To Avoid
There are some places on the planet you should be mindful to avoid. These areas are considered hostile to just about everyone including BizarroWorlders themselves. The only problem is the BizarroWorlders seem to think if they keep apologizing that these areas will suddenly like them again. One such area is the Middle Eastern section of the planet. Avoid this at all costs. Just fly over it on your way to the Far Eastern side of the planet. Even that area is tricky at times. Do not consider sailing anywhere near the area either unless a hostage scenario is in your itinerary. The waters are filled with pirates. There is a military presense there but they are under strict UN orders to do nothing about the problem (except the Russians, they don't give a shit in any way). Avoid the African Continent, especially if you have children. They could be kidnapped and turned into guerilla militia and turned against you with an AK47. Many of the incurable diseases in BizarroWorld come from there. The intelligent ones who reside there are coming to the Western part of the planet to escape that living hell. The rest are too poor or indoctrinated in a Junta of some sort.
There are still some amazing animals that manage to avoid poaching but that is soon to fade away since no one there cares about the future of their own environment. Many Western BizarroWorlders pore money to various "no profits" to help the people and the animals of this section but it is a lost cause. The money is squandered, stolen and what gets through is barely enough to fuel a truck. Do not get taken in by any of these causes while there.
The Polar regions are rumored to be melting but as of this publishing the author has found no credible evidence to support such a notion. It is as frikken, freezing cold as all get out!
Avoid various regions of the southern Western Hemisphere. Some nut named Chaves owns one area and his people are totally indocrinated Socialists. Do not go there. Another area is controlled by revolutionaries financed by cocaine. It is called Columbia. You will become a hostage . There is one area that holds a semblance of Democracy called Brazil. but they are busy burning down the Rainforest and polluting the main river there with run off from gold mining. They and the Chinese currently drill out all our oil along the east coast. America is not allowed to. That place will be a waste land in a hundred years anyways.. The central Western Hemisphere (Mexico) is overun with drug gangs who ship human cargo across the American border as cheap labor. The present day government in America is headed up by a quasi-prophet named The OObi. He and his minions are perfectly happy with this scenario and will do little to protect you if you dare to wander this region. The inhabitants of this region are regularly killed, raped, robbed and terrorized with only themselves to blame (according to government documents and testimonies). Residents who stand up and defend their property are considered racist, right wing, gun toting nutcases.
There is a strange place known as The Korean Peninsula. This is a place where polar opposites exist. In the southern part there is commerce, trade, hot chicks and cheap TV's. The northern part is barren, dark at night (no electricity) and the people are starving to death. The only commercial enterprise there seems to be nuclear weapons and other military equipment. Do not go there, you will be arrested and sent to a concentration camp along with 90% of the rest of that regions inhabitants. Everyone there bows to a Messiah (of sorts) known as "The Great Leader".
Places To Visit
The northern Western Hemisphere (for the most part) is quite nice. The European enclave titled The Euro-Zone is quite nice. Be cautious here though, there are some financial problems going on there and riots can spark at a moments notice. Bring a gas mask, tear gas is often used to diperse crowds and if you are caught up in this you can be affected by the gas. Again, just as was stated before, stay 100-200 feet away from these events and observe them from afar. Things tend to get destroyed including the demonstrators themselves. Be careful when taking photographs of these events, the law enforcement may think you are journalists and will club you like a Canadien baby seal in springtime.
NOTE: Speaking of getting clubbed; be very wary of law enforcement on BizarroWorld. They tend to use their batons with impunity wherever they gather. Reports have surfaced that a married couple was clubbed in Washington on their honeymoon because they danced at the Jefferson Memorial. A separate report surfaced that a homeless man was clubbed at a homeless shelter (imagine that). In most mass gatherings you can be sure the riot police will show up to start the clubbing. Again, stay far away from these events and view them from afar.
An awe inspiring place to visit is Alaska. A wonderful woman lives there who tried to wake America up when she ran as a VP candidate. The BizarroWorlders crucified her for being an American, for being a Republican and for being a woman. This is a great example of the mindset of BizarroWorlders. For decades the female species of this planet complained about being discriminated against. Decades later they crucify any woman who shows any sense of independence, purpose and self determination. Especially if it is counter to a dictated party line.
The woman's name is Sarah, if you manage to get to this beautiful land, pay her a visit.
Visit the Gulf Coast area, great fish and great music. A catagory 5 hurricane hit this area followed by a huge oil spill years later. Some how the people there have just kept going. This is probably one of the small examples of perseverance that still exists in BizarroWorld. The Admins in charge of this area blame some past President for all the troubles there. It makes no difference that disasters like this have happened before, it was still the fault of the past President. Hey, it's BizarroWorld!
Visit the Northeast in the autumn, great colors, Visit the Eastern shore during the college "spring-break". Lots of drunk chicks shedding their tops. Visit the Ohio Valley where most of the corn comes from. Kids still can be seen learning a work ethic as they tend to farm chores, go to school, work a part time job and then..Go back to the farm for more chores and more homework. Currently the BizarroWorlders are working to to end this time honored tradition. It violates Child Labor laws, Social Workers are everywhere in this region, be wary and hide your kids.
As of this publication, the events on BizarroWorld change daily. There may be more places to avoid and/or visit. It all depends on what happens next. Trust me, it is that fluid. The BizarroWorlders are constantly changing the names, places, descriptions to fit whatever new definition they make up at any point in time....Yeah, it is that messed up. A Traveler's Guide To BizarroWorld Part II
What Is BizarroWorld?
BizarroWorld is a parallel universe. It is as simple as that. A parallel universe is a universe where all that is and was as truth here doesn't exist there. For instance, in a parallel universe Hitler and the Japanese win WWII, McArthy was right, Kennedy was never assasinated and Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey are NOT extraterrestrials.
You get it? This is BizarroWorld in a nutshell.
Having any political convictions based on facts and historical context carry no weight on this planet. It is all about how you "feel" concerning an issue. This concept can swing wildly into the unknown and the traveler must be aware of this at all times. Those "feelings" are rooted in a mindset known on this planet as "Political Correctness". It dominates the culture. The overwhelming majority of inhabitants of BizarroWorld are known as Liberals and this mentality pervades all facets of their society. In point of fact, the Liberals have collectively declared their planet a Democracy. This works well for them considering that Liberals are the largest political ethnicity there. They essentially, rule everything.
In the normal space/time continuem, Liberalism is considered a mental disorder by people who excersise common sense. In BizarroWorld it is the law of the land. I am hesitant to apply any sort of medical diagnosis on this idea because I have no medical evidence to back up such a claim. However, in the author's opinion, Liberalism is a form of mental pathology.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it....Oh, and never repeat that once your ship arrives.
How Did BizarroWorld Evolve?
That is a good question Virginia, let me try to explain it this way.
There is a debate going on between scientists and theologians about the existence of God. Scientist argue that their discoveries disclaim such a notion, while the theologians argue that scientists just come up with more questions once they discover something new, thus claiming the mystery of God. A second school of thought exists between more rational minded scientists and theologians that the mear fact that 95% of all people on Earth believe in a Creator and the fact that billions of other worlds possibly exist (with their idea of a Creator), that sentient life has "willed" God and Heaven into existence. Basically, with trillions and trillions of minds steeped in the idea of a diety, that diety has somehow metaphysically become real.
Sounds sketchy, I know. Until you arrive on BizarroWorld.
You see, BizarroWorld exists due to that same idea. The Liberals "willed" themselves into believing their own hogwash for so long and have indocrinated so many others for so long that the planet has metaphysically formed out of (literally) nothing. Gene Roddenberry couldn't have thought this up!
It is here I must emphasize that you are entering a totally alien world. It may look, smell and sound like Earth but it is not. Be vigilant, always, ever vigilant.
Negotiating The Locals
This can vary from region to region. We will cover areas to avoid in the next segment but, for now, lets concentrate on when you arrive and how to negotiate the local area upon landing.
The central area formally known as The United States is still relatively sane, mostly farms, wilderness, very old communities. The rest of the place is a disaster, especially the sea coast areas. These regions are solid Lib controlled. Poverty and unemployment are rampant in these regions. Be sure to keep all valuables at home in the real world. Carry your cash and credit cards inside of your body (ladies, time to take one for the team).
Most locals can be bribed with large sums of cash. The local municipal drones will accept any type of bribe. You will see this in action if you witness a demonstration put on by one of the Union groups. People will be bribed and bussed in for these evnets. For your own safety stay at least 100-200 feet from these events. These groups tend to destroy everything around them including each other. Vast areas where past events have taken place are heavily damaged.
Credit is very important. If you have a low score, do not go to BizarroWorld. You could be dying of thirst in the desert but if a local banker sees your FICO is low, he will let you die rather than take a drink. Credit does not work amongst the poor, they work in cash only. Be wary though, theft is rampant in the poor areas although most of it takes place on a governmental level.
The worst thing you will encounter are "fees". There are fees for everything. There are fees for the fees and taxes to be paid on top of those fees. You cannot spit without a permit, cops are everwhere and they enforce the rules. Neighbors tell on neighbors and everyone is in everyone else's business. Again, large sums of cash will cure most of these meddlesome inconveniences. Besides, all the cash is fake in BizarroWorld. The government prints it out of thin air so spend all you want. All products in BizarroWorld come from China because American businesses hurt the environment and trample on the little people so they are strictly outlawed.

A Traveler's Guide to BizarroWorld
Welcome to the Traveler's Guide to BizarroWorld. In this pamphlet you will find many interesting subjects and sites to ponder. It has been my pleasure to piece together such a valuable companion to the Common Sense Individual as he/she navigates this amazingly interesting planet. I wish to address a few crucial points as you embark on your journey. This is purely for your safety and (partly) as my way of saying "I told you so.."
Introduction
BizarroWorld is incredibly dangerous. Only the strong of conviction and politically educated should attempt the more remote areas of the planet. Be prepared to lose everything you stand for and be told you are insane, racist, homophobic and/or a Right Wing Nutbag. Be sure if you plan on running for office you are willing to be crucified for what you believe in. This is a particularly dangerous part of the planet. The bodies are everywhere.
Nothing here makes any sense whatsoever. Alcohol helps for it is the only way for an educated person to understand the BizarroWorlders. Lies are the truth in BizzarroWorld. Deception is key to the power of the hegemony that dominates this planet and extends to others worlds within the system. For instance, at one time the leaders dared the inhabitants to reach for space. They attained quite a level of sofistication until the whole thing fell apart thanks to the emergence of The OObi (more on him later).
The inhabitants are controlled by their own fear and inability to broaden their sense of self determination due to decades of largesse from the ruling elite. That largesse comes in various forms and there is a segment about that in this companion. This control creates suspicion amongst the dwellers so be careful how you proceed with statements that make total sense in the real world. This is BizarroWorld!
The America you have departed from no longer exists here. It is not the exceptional nation built upon freedom, liberty and justice. It has morphed into some amalgamate of a planetary government called The UN. What rules apply in other areas of the planet apply here. However, long standing priciples of Government of a Republic do not apply to those areas..Nor do they here. In some areas lawlessness is rampant and supported politically, financially and morally by this UN. There is a palpable hatred amongst the majority of the inhabitants of these principles. Those who still cling to it have gone underground and formed movements in an attempt to restore the American Republic. Many of these groups are the same ones you will see targeted as you journey through this land. Be mindful: do not attempt contact unless you can live up to the standards and consequences listed above. You will be viewed as "one of them". Do not aid or comfort or you will never see your Homeworld again. You could be killed.
With that covered, lets talk about what you will need for survival equipment on this desolate orb. The first thing you will need is a very thick skin. Preferably the texture and thickness of Bison works well here. (Note: If you accidentally manage an unfortunate confrontation with a BizarroWorlder, just say you are a Bison. They will immediately want to protect you from everything, including yourself. Claiming you are an "old growth" forest has worked for other travelers).
Weapons are banned here. Only law enforcement and government are allowed to have them. Again, be careful if you choose to carry one. Keep it hidden and if you are forced to use it, HIDE THE BODY!!
This brings me to the next piece of equipment. You will need a shovel. One reason, to bury any bodies you acumulate and to clear away the immense debris fields known a bullshit. BizarroWorld makes so much of it it is piled up from horizon to horizon somewhere around the neck level. This explains the brown rings around the inhabitant's necks. It has nothing to do with the sphincter.
Feel free to bring any electronic texting/phone device you wish. 99.9% of all BizarroWorlders are transfixed on theirs. This can be useful due to the fact that they pay no attention to anything else except those things. Car accidents are frequent so be carefull walking or driving, no one is paying attention.The only exception is if you say, text, post or print something that one of them deems 'offensive". The possibility of all out war can turn on a phrase, a photo, a drawing, so be very careful in this regard. You could be arrested or killed.
Dress accordingly for the weather (ladies no innapropriate shoes or revealing clothes if you vist the Middle Eastern side of the planet). Wear nothing with a political emblem on it. Hide any example of military service unless you are actively in the service and on deployement. This has been found to intimidate BizarroWorlders and can be very effective during unfortunate confrontations. In more recent cases however, such military personnel have been asked to remove such uniforms.
Bring medicine. Get all your shots. Learn First-Aid before coming here and bring a kit with you!. A medical emergency could send you into the labyrinth of their government run medical facilities. To date, millions are presumed still lost and wandering in there as a result of an unintended injury while visiting. Most are presumed dead. Don't be one of them.
Finally bring losts of cash but be sure to keep it hidden and close to your body. Theft is a very real possibility although most of it takes place on a governmental level. Most of these people however, can be bribed with large amounts of cash. You will see this if you attend a protest put on by any of the Unions that dominate the landscape. Please view these from afar for they tend to get out of hand and result and violence and property damage.

Mitt Romney Meets The Bizarro-Worlders
Once again the religion of peace demonstrates it's purpose of being. Once again the Lame Stream Media demonstrates it's purpose of being and Obama has lost all touch with reality.
The stunning performance of Gov. Mitt Romney at his recent press conference shows the balls this country needs so as to remind the rest of the world that you do not screw with the United States. I could care less about the media fallout from this. The media is wrong and any prudent observer immediately recognizes this every time some anchor-celeb opens his/her maw.
Romney wasn't just stunning because of the campaign angle of his address, he was stunning because everything he said was totally correct. Romney is (what I call) a polymorph. He is skilled at educating himself about anything he wishes to engage in. He did this as Governor when he tackled the Big Dig scandal, Mass Healthcare, his careful ballet with The Beacon Hill crime syndicate, never mind his private and business pursuits. This is a busy guy and he has his shit wired.
He is probably the only guy in politics today who is going to tell it straight to the American People about what actually needs to be said and done to successfully prosecute this war.
The Liberals and their Goebbels-esque media propaganda machine have labelled this "The Arab Spring." What a bunch of morons.
This region of the world isn't exactly brimming with contributions to the world's roster of historical achievements. Quite the opposite. The wind changes direction and these idiots have another reason to jihad. At least the internal conflicts in black Africa stay internal, you don't see a car bombing in England from the Nagumbu Liberation Front of Uganda on the evening news. But not these other guys, they are mindless savages and they want to kill us all. Many Middle Eastern States are failed states and more are failing as I write. How's that Arab Spring workin' for ya now?
The apology thing didn't work Mr. O. This war is an after thought for him, it always has been. The recent losses to our side these past three years is a direct result of the scaling back of our words, our deeds and our intentions from the highest office. It wasn't a political slap on the part of Romney. It became a political slap when Obama said Romney "..shoots from the hip..". It became political when the state department made, then backtracked on their comments about some Coptic Christian film. At least we sent in 50 Marines..Yeah, good luck to those guys.
I know this is going to come as a shock to most Americans (so I put out cookies and milk). Romney has every right to say what he wants about his convictions. I like that. One of the cool things about what Romney did is that this guy has the dough to make it happen. I am talking full court press here! Then he does it again when he refused to take back his statements. The media exposed themselves as the hobbled, pathetic nincumpoops they are. So, naturally he was publicly excoriated for excersizing his First Amendment Rights by the First Amendent Rights complaining Liberal Media..Welcome to Bizarro-World Governor.
The film in question has taken a back seat. It is another example of media chewing on it's own leg. We placate to the sensitivities of our enemies to the extent that we are willing to silence the voice of opposition in a nation where that opposition is Constitutionally guaranteed that right to voice it's opposition. I don't remember seeing any Coptic Christians blowing shit up around the world. But make a film about how you view a situation and you are intolerant and fomenting hate. The world is replete with nations denouncing everything that is American, but we are the intolerant ones.
Did you know that virtually all of the Christians living in the Arab world (why they stay there is beyond me) either know some one or is related to some one who has been killed, raped, kidnapped, had his/her business/home attacked and destroyed or who has otherwise been fucked with some Islamic Fruitcake Extremist group. They can't even get justice in a court of law over there, that is, if these cases ever go to court to begin with. Historically, Christians and Jews have always been targeted and persecuted in the Arab World.. Kill a Jew get a free coffee at the drive-thru. Behead a Westerner and you win a color TV.
Equating a film or a statement and critiques of foreign policy as religiously insensitive is indicative of the weakness in our attempt to understand just what we are dealing with here. The Islamic radicals see this and exploit it as a weapon. In fact, our constant second guessing how our enemies may react is one reason they are winning this war. They will hit us hard with no second thought and we will rub our hands in apology and ask ourselves what we did wrong. Daubing everything with a Muslim litmus test strip will not balance the Ph of the water. Each time we do it all we will discover is that the water is getting worse. By worrying over making matters worse by our actions we certainly have not made anything better.

They can't even get justice in a court of law over there, that is, if these cases ever go to court to begin with. Historically, Christians and Jews have always been targeted and persecuted in the Arab World.. Kill a Jew get a free coffee at the drive-thru. Behead a Westerner and you win a color TV.
Equating a film or a statement and critiques of foreign policy as religiously insensitive is indicative of the weakness in our attempt to understand just what we are dealing with here. The Islamic radicals see this and exploit it as a weapon. In fact, our constant second guessing how our enemies may react is one reason they are winning this war. They will hit us hard with no second thought and we will rub our hands in apology and ask ourselves what we did wrong. Daubing everything with a Muslim litmus test strip will not balance the Ph of the water. Each time we do it all we will discover is that the water is getting worse. By worrying over making matters worse by our actions we certainly have not made anything better.

The Pathology of Power

It is eleven pm, do you know where your children are? If you are one of the millions of parents whose children are in the care and custody of the state child protective services, chances are you do not know where they are. You do not know if they are hungry, cold, mistreated, incarcerated or at the mercy of a predator. Additionally, the chances of justice for such an outrage is equally as unknowable.
The ability of the state to confiscate property goes beyond what you 'own', it extends to our most valued of endearments, our children. The most powerful of these is The Department of Social Services. It has been quoted by one anonymous DSS worker that they "are more powerful than the IRS". The aim is to deny parents their natural rights of parenting by replacing the family unit with a humanist centric agency.
Mandates within the new Obamacare law will extend this power. State agencies and law enforcement are on the front lines. They will be given greater authority to decide what's in "the best interest of the child" and this starts at the public schools. Already children are barred from school if the parents do not provide up to date health records and immunizations.The extended powers will make it a criminal act if a parent decides to not have the child examined at all. Many times have I been told by a school nurse that my children will have to undergo a physical before starting the next grade level. This extension of powers will ensure compliance or families could face the loss of custody of their children and/or criminal prosecution.
In 1986 parental rights advocate Mary Pride wrote a shocking book titled "The Child Abuse Industry". She spoke of many states creating stricter laws for parents to follow, more mandates for schools to enforce, legislators and courts manipulating the laws to provide more flexibility for Social Services to operate. One of the most important tools used is the notion of "erring on the side of the child". Mary writes:
"Social workers are given immunity in the laws; it is almost impossible to win a lawsuit when a child is removed in error..."
Legalized kidnapping of your child is protected within the language. Never mind that this is shockingly un-Constitutional, that has no bearing what-so-ever. Even scarier is that when challenged in various State Supreme Courts, the courts ruled in favor of the language..It is in the best interest of the child.

Music played, lights flashed as happy little children bounced on hospital beds with attentive government nurses attending to them. I went to shed, got my twelve gauge and shot my television. I was stunned. I felt as if Aldous Huxley had reached out from the grave.

With the help of Social Services, HHS and the public school system over 130 million children are on ADHD drugs today. They are creating that "perfect" child and parents are powerless to intervene.
In 1991 FDA officials (many execs from BigPharma) heard testimony from adults who suffered side effects of these drugs. Many side effects included attempted suicide. The FDA, after hours of testimony by over five hundred people determined that there was not enough evidence to warrant any kind of warning. A panel of doctors from the National Health Institute in 1998 were tasked to define the symptoms and causes of ADHD. After a three day press filled forum they failed to define ADHD. A reporter from NPR asked the panel for a specific definition. They failed to provide one. Dr. Mark Vonnegut is on camera stammering through a botched attempt to narrow down the parameters of the disease.
The scary thing is that it will not be your private family doctor who examines, tests, and diagnoses your child with ADHD. It will be reported to a state agency by a school administrator using a very thin litmus test to determine the diagnosis. Using the new mandates, recommendations are made and compliance becomes mandatory. Most children in foster care today are required by the state to undergo some form of medicating for ADHD. Over the past twelve years over three quarters of the school shootings were perpetrated by children long subjected to psychotropic serotonin inhibitors for ADHD.
Our children's lives are over-run with counselors, therapists, specialists. Their goal is is to ensure that there is a steady stream of new patients. The definition of "normal" is marginalized in order to show that the number of "abnormal" people is growing, thus demanding more laws, more money and more power. These new definitions are soon to arrive at a school near you.

The more we promote single motherhood, marginalize fathers, grow the welfare roles, brand more children as "at risk", the more money you get for your agency.
A meeting last August of the 15th District of Worcester candidates centered around the idea of an income tax increase to be specifically aimed for Social Services. I thought, I woke up into another dimension. The discussion fell along party lines (as usual) with the Democrats accusing the Republicans of not caring about women and children. Few numbers were given to justify the tax increase but, the discussion underscores how important this issue is to the agencies themselves and themselves only. We have entered Bizzarro-World now where we actually discuss the funding of corruption in public forums and no one blinks an eye.
Finally, the Family Court System, tasked with the legalities of child abuse. Unlike a criminal case the state is not required to prove itself "beyond a reasonable doubt". Here is where the courts and Social Services have joined forces to create a wholly separate and independent court complete with their own rules. The burden of proof is shifted to the accused. A Social Worker doesn't have to testify, you never face your accuser, the decisions are made before you enter the court room and every one for the state is granted immunity (not that any one would purposely lie). Should the accused be exonerated there will be no recompence for their troubles. If the child has been removed it will still take months for the family to be reunited. The emotional scars will be deep and everlasting.
Our rights are granted by God but, our laws are written by men and are subject to error. Historically, the evolution of government has always lead to tyranny. Without careful consideration of our desire for protection and what that entails: Historically, it will be the people who allow tryanny to foment..

Defining The Machine

In 2010 America elected a new breed of Congressional and Senatorial Representatives. The idea and the hope was that they would bring back accountability to the legislative process. They would be accountable to the people who elected them. The ‘Tea Party’ moniker that was attached to all these candidates lent an air of fiscal accountability and representation for the people to this new breed. It would help to propel them into office. What the Tea Party did not know, what most of the candidates didn’t know and what none of the media reported on is the enormous money machine which overshadows the entire legislative process after some one gets elected into office.
We are not talking about campaign finance reform, that is a totally separate argument. Rather, we are talking about an ongoing assembly line of party dues and party fundraising that begins in the chambers of Congress. In effect it is a ‘pay to play’ system of government. To claim that the system is ‘rigged’ does not even begin to scratch the surface. This includes how members rise through the ranks to obtain senior or “leadership” positions as they’re termed. This involves how committee assignments are rewarded, how becoming a ranking committee member is decided, how one can attach their name to bills which may aid in their re-election, to moving or stalling pieces of legislation.
When a candidate is seated he/she is immediately put onto a treadmill of constantly raising money. The demand is so paramount that two representatives, Pete Sessions (R Tx.) and Mike Fitzpatrick (R Pa) missed their swearing in ceremony because they were busy in the capital hosting celebration parties at the capital visitor center which many deemed to be fundraisers. Incidentally fundraising anywhere within the Capital building is not allowed.
Mike Fitzpatrick, a newly elected 1st term congressman missed his swearing in ceremony to host a fundraiser. To those who elected him this is a bad sign. To party leadership like Pete Sessions who also is the head of the Republican National Congressional Committee, they sit back and smile thinking this Fitzpatrick kid has a future in Washington.
Within the RNC and DNC just across the parking lot of Congressional offices and Capital Hill special “call centers” are set up for this very purpose. The list of donors to both parties are some of the most prominent companies in the United States today.
Failure to raise the designated money or failure to partake in the process altogether will result in being tossed under the bus come next election cycle. Your proposed Bills will die before the ink is dry, no committee seats for you Congressman, and no invites to those special luncheons either. The official is simply cut from the herd and is cast into a political no man’s land of obscurity to serve out their short and ineffectual one and only term.
However, compliance and/or raising more than your share of funds propels you into that special club of the game players. You get on that committee if not the chairmanship itself. You get all the CNN and FOX interviews you can handle, fully equipped staff, free parking and day passes at Sandals.
Lt. Col. Allen West is one of these special people in that special club. Part of his job is to strong arm other Reps for money. That is why he gets all the television time, sits on committees and ensures party support come November 2012.
The amount of time raising money is substantial. Every member of the house says they dislike this task yet most are not willing to give specifics to it. Most estimates have it between 30 and 70% of their time is raising money. Committee hearings are scheduled around fundraisers. Votes have been scheduled around fundraisers. They say they’re so busy which creates midnight and weekend votes. Imagine if they didn’t fundraise! They could vote between 9-5 Monday through Friday! The Parties won’t allow it.
What is more concerning is 30 to 70% of what a member of congress fundraises is given away! The money is transferred directly back to the parties or given to other members to buy influence which may be beneficial to their election, move or stall legislation and buying committee assignments.
All members entering congress are immediately in debt. They are automatically assigned what is called “party dues”. This is an annually assigned amount each member must pay or transfer from their campaign accounts to the Party coffers. The amounts are astronomical. For Party leadership Nancy Pelosi must raise 25 million dollars for the party. Minority whip Steny Hoyer is set to hand over 800,000 from his campaign account and raise another 2.5 million for the party, assistant leader and leader of the congressional black caucus James Clyburn will transfer 600,000. and raise another 1.5 million for the party. This is not optional if they want to be in leadership and stay in leadership. This is how they obtain leadership.
As reported in Politico the Democrats 2011 dues ranges from 75,000 for freshmen with no standing to 250,000 for ranking members of committees (which is what Jim McGovern D MA. pays). Sub-committees upwards of 500,000 for DCCC council leaders and deputy whips.
There is staff provided (or hired) specifically charged with the task of navigating this Niagra Falls of a financial rafting trip! There is a person who runs the call centers in both the RNC and DNC. Aids also participate in the process.
Ethics rules forbid the use of Congressional/Senatorial offices to raise campaign funds. So, with bi-partisan support as a show of political unity convenient offices were set up just across the parking lot of Capitol Hill.
But the Ethics rules are broad in scope. However, there has never been a rule or law that a politician hasn’t found a loophole to jump through. In fact, the Code of Ethics isn’t a ‘law’ or ‘rule’ in the strict sense of the word but rather “....a concurrent resolution expressing the ’sense of Congress’ rather than a statute (and)... represent continuing traditional standards of ethical conduct to be observed....” (House Ethics Manual).
A politician cannot (from his/her office) make campaign calls, send a letter to a contributor, even take or leave a message to a contributor. That’s what the RNC and DNC offices across the parking lot are for!
Unless, said contributions come from other members for party dues. Not only does this money pass freely but this ‘machine’ is running full throttle almost 24/7 during the entire politician’s term in office.
In a 2/25/09 article for Roll Call, Jackie Kucinich brought to light how the RNC secures party dues. “....if they do not pony up their dues, they will get no help for their re-election campaigns....” Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers (R) told lawmakers in one of those secret, closed door meetings “.... if you do not participate, you do not get help....” He then passed around a contract for all those present to sign or get left behind.
In 2010, The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) demanded an average $50,000 dollar hike in party dues. Former DCCC Chair Rahm Emmanuel was known to threaten Democratic lawmakers to be banned from DCCC offices (across the parking lot) until they kicked in the 50K. (Aaron Blake, The Hill).
Appointments to positions are now based on how much that politician has contributed; not their experience or knowledge. This facilitates party ideology and political polarization. Bi-partisan used to mean a meeting in the middle. Today it means whichever party is in the minority has to succumb to the party in the majority and to procedural strategies employed by that majority.
During the 2010 Congressional campaign in the 3rd District. Sitting Congressman Jim McGovern was hammered in a debate about why he raised over 2 million dollars in two past campaigns where he ran unopposed. He darted around the question a few times until he finally answered, “..because I can...”. And he was right. So can’t others. The party will tell you who to call, how many times, send in another list after you finish the first one and set the amounts to raise. In fact, the longer you serve and pay to play the better the money gets. That’s why Congressman McGovern “can”.
Curiously, the media pays no attention to this. The emphasis is on “campaign finance reform”, an appropriate, yet deceptive way of keeping the public’s attention elsewhere. The process simply promotes the one person who can benefit the party and the donors. With the media split down Left and Right there is little incentive to report this practice and expose it for what it is.
What would it matter anyways? What does either side gain from exposing the other side to a practice they both partake in? Sure, a few disgruntled voters this year and a few political sacrificial lambs to the media then business as usual after the election. It is a process that has gone on for decades and may take decades to remove. We must hold leaders accountable, find the ones who will not be part of the machine and work diligently to help them get re-elected (since the party won’t). Perhaps these are the people we are looking for.

Deciple Deval
Deciple Deval has unleashed his fiscal 2013 budget at a merry 5.something billion dollars. Of course, the legislators want to tweek his recommendations a little. The largest chunk of pie is consumed by Health care. Gotta love that Romenycare!. Hey, didn't he say something about repealing another form of penalizing legislation? I digress.
The best part of the State budget has to do with EBT cards. I just found out that you can buy porn, booze and strippers with your EBT card. Or, you used to be able to, at least. Seems the legislators want to limit the use of them in these types of joints, but Deciple Deval wants to just prohibit the use of them entirely. Either plan is fine by me. What perplexes me is: You mean I could have bought porn, booze and strippers with my EBT card? I miss all the fun stuff! The fact that this thing existed and now they are agueing over the details of the repeal is ridiculous. Who is doing this? What wife lets her man go to the titty bar with the family food budget?
I can just see alot of nights on the couch if I came home with peanut butter and jelly and a stack of Hustlers and a quart of Jim Bean instaed of food for the family. She would cut off my head and no judge in the world would convict her for it.
The other thorn in my side is the looming 51% of the budget instantly tasked for Healthcare. Am I the only one who finds this diturbing? Every one against Government run Healthcare have pushed the same aguements over the ballooning costs and the proponents have gafawed it away. Well, surprise, surprise, surprise, the portion has grown from the projections of a few million to over 51%.. DeLeo, that corpulent crook, blasts something about "political grandstanding.." It is political granstanding you ape!
Reality is right before our eyes Massachusetts. The roads suck, the job market sucks but teachers and hospitals get all the gravy. That may take care of your patrons Mr. Speaker and Mr. P. but try being an average citizen here and need to see a doctor on your blessed Mass Healthcare. All the money thrown at this monster still does not resolve the problem of its lumbering and inability to live up to the standards we were promised.

Reality is right before our eyes Massachusetts. The roads suck, the job market sucks but teachers and hospitals get all the gravy. That may take care of your patrons Mr. Speaker and Mr. P. but try being an average citizen here and need to see a doctor on your blessed Mass Healthcare. All the money thrown at this monster still does not resolve the problem of its lumbering and inability to live up to the standards we were promised.
